My Professional Passion as a Mental Health Therapist

I am passionate about the work I do as a Mental Health Therapist because of the fulfillment I get from helping others navigate their challenges and supporting them on their journey towards overall well-being. I also find joy in building meaningful connections with individuals and witnessing their growth and transformation over time. I believe in the power of therapy to help people lead happier, more fulfilling, and authentic lives.

My journey as a Mental Health Therapist started from my own personal experiences of when my glow was diminished. Finding support was key in me keeping my flame glowing and maintaining the ongoing light. I want to give others the gift that was given to me.

Education, Training, and Treatment Approach

I obtained my Masters degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from LaSalle University. I received my undergraduate degree from King’s College, where I studied Psychology and Neuroscience. I was initiated into and am currently an active member of Psi Chi and Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), which are international honor societies that recognizes academic and professional excellence in psychology and counseling for counseling students, counselor educators, and professional counselors.

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Trauma Professional (CCTP). I hold a certification (CAADC) and license (LCADC) in Addiction Treatment. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additionally, I have a certification in professional mental health supervision (ACS). I regularly provide supervision and trainings to pre-licensed and licensed mental health professionals. I have experience working with clientele ranging in age from adolescence to adulthood within various mental health level of care settings: inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. I have held positions which focused on dual diagnosis treatment, mental health treatment, addiction treatment, eating disorder treatment, integrating mental health and medical care, and managing mental health within in the legal system. My diverse professional work history contributed to my niche and interest of working with individuals who struggle dual diagnosis, co-occurring, and comorbid conditions.

I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Treatment, and Trauma Informed Treatment. I hold advanced certificates in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training and trauma informed care.

My approach is relational, empowering, and collaborative. I deeply value the relationship I build with each individual. I believe individual’s have the autonomy to move at a pace that they are comfortable with,  while also having me encourage and support them to move towards achieving their treatment goals. Therapy I provide is trauma & culturally informed and evidence based (back by research). Past clients described me as warm, knowledgeable, patient, validating, and supportive. I pride myself on being an expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I find that utilizing an eclectic (all treatment orientations inclusive) approach helps respect each individuals uniqueness and allows for personalized care.
